Beyoncé and JAY-Z have made an impact at this week's Brit Awards, sharing a prerecorded acceptance video featuring a painted portrait of Meghan Markle - an homage to the pair's music video for , which saw the couple perform in front of the Mona Lisa.
The message was particularly poignant given Markle's historic presence as a biracial member of the British Royal Family, as well as the fact that it's currently .
"Thank you to the Brits for the award for Best International Group," Beyoncé later wrote in a post on Instagram.
"I won this award back in 2002 with my besties, Kelly and Michelle. How lucky am I to have been in a group with my other best friend, the GOAT Hova."
She continued: "In honor of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas. Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy."
On her , Beyoncé paid further tribute to the Duchess of Sussex, highlighting the royal's past charity work.
"Meghan's charitable work in communities of colour began years before becoming the Duchess of Sussex," the page reads.
"As a global ambassador for , she travelled to Rwanda to see how access to clean, safe water impacts children, an issue that is near and dear to our hearts."
The tribute continues: "She also visited and supported the in Mumbai, an organisation that helps solve the menstruation challenges many women and girls in the community face."
