Underway this week is the Television Critics Association (TCA) panel presentations in Los Angeles. This is where TV networks present TV critics with the opportunities to talk with series stars, writers, producers, and network executives about prominent TV shows. Today, The Good Fight, which airs first-run episodes in Australia on SBS and streams at SBS On Demand, was featured on stage in front of TV critics.

And here's what you need to understand: TV critics watch more TV than anyone. And they all LOVE The Good Fight.

We learnt a lot about the upcoming third season of The Good Fight thanks to TV critics tweeting from the room. Here's the most important things we discovered:

There's a new trailer showing off season 3 and it looks stellar!

The Good Fight now has something in common with Friends

No one usually takes any note of what individual episodes of TV shows are named. But they started to in the 90s with Friends, which cutely used to name every episode "The One ...". The Good Fight are appropriating this with a wink to Friends by naming every episode in a similar way:

Season 3 will have a musical episode

With The Good Fight filming episodes in New York, the show takes advantage of the city's wealth of Broadway actors to cast on the show. The result is that in between scenes to keep energy up, actors will often sing and dance with each other while they wait for camera set-ups. Season 3 is taking full advantage of the singing chops of its Broadway star actors. Even if the show's co-showrunner has been hesitant to do this:

Life moves pretty fast if you don't pay attention

It pays to watch The Good Fight as soon as possible, with a lot of episodes based on topical news stories. The show has been very good about not feeling dated by the time the episodes air, but they have a plan just in case something big happens before an episode goes out:

There's an amendment to be...

Fans of The Good Fight will remember that the 7th episode of season 2 of the show ended with a parody of the 70s Schoolhouse Rock cartoons, with musician Jonathan Coulton's song

For the new season, not only will we see a return of these cartoons, but there will be a new one every episode.
Season three of The Good Fight premieres with a double episode on Wednesday, 17 April at 8:30pm on SBS. Remaining episodes will air on Wednesdays at 9:30pm. After they air, episodes will be available to stream at SBS On Demand.
