This new season of shows kicks off on Thursday, 14 December, which will see the premiere of US thriller Berlin Station seasons one and two, French comedy Beautiful Loser and Danish noir Ride Upon the Storm. Norwegian thriller Monster, Swedish arthouse romp Veni Vidi Vici and two complete seasons of US dark comedy Search Party will be available for Australians to binge-watch anytime, anywhere, for free on SBS On Demand on Thursday 11 January.

Berlin Station S1 & 2 (USA, 20 episodes)

Berlin Station follows CIA agent Daniel Miller (Richard Armitage), who has just arrived at the CIA station in Berlin, Germany. Miller has a clandestine mission: to uncover the source of a leak who has supplied information to a whistle-blower named Thomas Shaw. Also starring Richard Jenkins, Rhys Ifans, and Ashley Judd in season two.

 

Ride Upon the Storm (Denmark, 10 episodes)

Ride Upon the Storm isa Danish drama created by Adam Price and starring Lars Mikkelsen (House of Cards) that follows a family of priests and explores how faith and religion affect their familial relationships.

 

Beautiful Loser (France, 10 episodes)

At 31, Julien (Sebastien Chassagne) is an eternal teenager, unable to get a grip, fleeing responsibility, penniless, and taking minor dead-end jobs. He finds himself obliged to return home and live with his mother Sylvie, in Chaville. By chance, he meets Marie (Marie Kauffmann), an ex from his teenage years he hadn't heard from – and finds out he is the dad of a 15 year old teenager. Suddenly a father, Julien must learn to grow up and take responsibility.

Monster (Norway, 7 episodes)

Starring SBS On Demand favourite Jakob Oftebro (Lilyhammer, The Bridge, 1864: Denmark’s War, Young & Promising), Monster is a Scandi-noir that will chill viewers to the bone. In a small town in northern Norway, a young girl goes missing and her boyfriend turns up dead. Police inspector Hedda Hersoug (Ingvild Holthe Bygdnes) is forced to work with hotshot detective Joel Dreyer (Oftebro) to hunt down a serial killer. With the investigation falling apart, and both detectives butting heads, they resort to extreme measures to stay on the case and keep their personal secrets from coming to light.

 

Search Party S1 & 2 (USA, 20 episodes)

Search Party season two follows the lives of four self-absorbed young adults Dory (Alia Shawkat), Portia (Meredith Hagner), Elliott (John Early) and Drew (John Reynolds) – who must now deal with the disastrous consequences of successfully tracking down missing classmate Chantal (Clare McNulty). As the friends’ paranoia grows, their relationships fray, and it becomes increasingly difficult to trust that no one will discover the group’s murderous secret.

 

Veni Vidi Vici (Sweden, 10 episodes)

A Swedish comedy following Danish film director Karsten (Thomas Bo Larsen), whose arthouse film gets a bad review and puts his career in jeopardy. Karsten is financially supported by his wife (Livia Millhagen) who is quickly getting sick of his inability to provide for the family. Driven into a corner, Karsten takes on a directing job offered by a long-time friend, only to find out that the job is in the adult film industry.
