F*ck That’s Delicious visits New Zealand to eat bagels, drink wine, and shoot arrows.

Action Bronson and Meyhem Lauren visit New Zealand on F*ck That’s Delicious where they eat, drink, and get so high that they toast the moon.

Welcome to Auckland, New Zealand. Bronson is in town to play one of the major music festivals with a detour into the delicious side of New Zealand, which frankly, I’d never seen a food show explore without being condescending. Most of the time you see lifestyle food shows explore New Zealand with the patronising disposition of,: “wow, they really do have great food here and it’s SO close to Australia, is that even possible?!?”

You know it’s going to be a great episode of F*ck That’s Delicious when Action Bronson is dropping F-Bombs in the opening micro-second. Bronson is on a beach in New Zealand with his sidekick, Meyhem Lauren, getting in touch with nature.

Bronson starts at Depot Eatery where everything goes in a wood-fire oven and comes out looking like a masterpiece. A variety of seafood is on the menu and the portions are so large and enticing that Bronson ditches the knife and fork and eats each dish with tongs. It’s amazing the show has lasted this long without Bronson opting for tongs as his tool of choice.

The crew moves to Best Ugly Bagels next. There they make the ‘Action Bronson bagel’ (curried egg, kimchi, potato chips, chilli leaves, oh my!). The bagel setup is amazing and they have a wood-fire oven (Auckland seems to run on them) where the bagels sit on boards and cook right next to the fire; they look so cosy basking in the warmth while slowly rising. The bakers slowly remove the boards when the bagels are done and flick them into baskets. Tossing bagels should be an Olympic sport. Bronson learns to roll bagels while eating one; he goes eats hands-free with a chunk hanging from his mouth; he’s the master of multitasking.

The side adventures of Meyhem is always a treat on F*ck That’s Delicious and this time he’s on a boat exploring his ‘sexual aquatic-ness'; Meyhem, never change. Bronson fits in a concert at a strip club for his hardcore fans (classic Bronson), but in true Action Bronson fashion he gets too hot, leaves the concert to go for walk, gets an ice block and smokes a joint handed to him by a random person; as he says, “life is good.”

Write this place down for your next trip to Auckland: The White Lady. It’s a burger place in a converted school bus. The burgers look like something out of The Flintstones with mammoth hunks of beef. It’s the kind of place to visit after a big night out and Bronson meets people who seem to have already had one. Bronson describes it as: “a place for the common man, and the drug addicts.”

The final stop is Matakana, north of Auckland, where Bronson and Meyhem drink wine and shoot arrows, sadly, there’s not a wood-fire oven in sight. Bronson meets up with the chef from Depot Eatery and they make ceviche. Bronson returns the favour to his host by getting him high which causes him to hallucinate while they all take a moment to toast the moon.

There’s no other cooking show like F*ck That’s Delicious and it had me seriously considering flights to Auckland to get one of those dinosaur burgers. Bronson’s visit brings to life the food scene in Auckland without the disbelief that finding good food is possible there.

F*ck That's Delicious airs Monday nights on SBS VICELAND at 8:30pm. Catch up with previous episodes on SBS On Demand:
