Aunt Harriet fat shamed Dick on ‘Batman’ and I can't stop crying

“Batman Sets the Pace” was wrapping up like most of the double header Batman episodes do.

After handily defeating the Joker, who was impersonating the big boned Maharaja of Nimpa (not a real country – I checked) so he could get Batman to write him a cheque (this episode had a lot of layers), Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson are enjoying some post-crime-fighting tea. Dick reaches for what appears to be a cookie and...

Aunt Harriet violently lashes out and slaps his hand away.

I’m serious. It was horrifying. I gasped and fell off my bean bag.

Dick yanks his hand back, clearly terrified that she might tear it off with her superhuman strength fueled by a hatred of fat people.

From one cookie?! What's this water on my face? Oh right. I'm crying. Because this hurts.

Then she literally says all of this: “I just saw his picture in the Gotham City Herald. He was on a tiger hunting expedition. And you never saw anybody so fat in your entire life..."

But she doesn't stop. She's smelled blood and keeps going:

Jesus, Aunt Harriet! Maybe he's going through a divorce or something. Money can't fill the hole in your heart. I thought you knew that Aunt Harriet. What happened to you?
