You likely remember Bob the Drag Queen as the purse-loving Season 8 winner of iconic drag reality series RuPaul's Drag Race, but now - Bob's movin' on up.
Today, fans have their first look at the popular drag queen - whose real name is Christopher Caldwell - as the lead in a star-studded new drag film called Cherry Pop.
Cherry Pop covers a single night in a failing drag club (and a lot can happen in one night at a drag club). It follows a newcomer to the drag scene (Cherry), who's treated as an outcast on their first night in the club's lineup. On the same night, a local drag legend is coming to terms with it being their last performance, and last night in drag. Throughout the night, you meet a variety of other backstabbing, dramatic queens, all of whom are dealing with problems of their own and "just plain can't stand each other".
Originally a short film that was released last year, the move for Cherry Pop to become a feature-length movie became possible via crowdfunding on .
After releasing the short film, director Assaad Yacoub told blog , "The audience has been craving a movie like this for sure – it made me happy to see that. The topic is now more important than ever – the timing is perfect especially with [the] transgender/LGBT community speaking out a lot more nowadays. It’s amazing to be a part of the bigger picture of it all."
The feature-length film, which also stars Drag Race alum Detox Icunt, Latrice Royale and Tempest Dujour, will debut at New York City Pride's OutCinema event - a celebratory festival of the LGBTQIA community's achievements in film.

The film will screen at NYC Pride on June 19th, and tickets are available on the now.
