RuPaul's Drag Race has secured its place in TV history, taking out the award for Outstanding Reality TV Series at today's Emmy Awards.
"Thank you to the Academy. This is so lovely," RuPaul said as he accepted the award.
He continued: "We are so happy to present this show. I would like to thank, on behalf of the 140 drag queens we have released into the wild, I'd love to thank Dick Richards for introducing me to Randy Barbato and Fenton Bailey," RuPaul said, referring to the team at World of Wonder, who have produced the series since it began.
Earlier on the red carpet, RuPaul admitted that he had always dreamed of taking out the award.
"I've had a speech prepared since I was five years old," he told Variety.
Addressing viewers at home, RuPaul added: "All of the dreamers out there, listen.
"If you can't love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else? Can I get an amen up in here? Now let the music play!"
The win makes RuPaul's Drag Race the first reality series to win both best reality series and best reality TV host in the same year.
