The broadcast on Sunday 8 January will begin at pm and feature extensive coverage of the women’s race before showcasing live action of the men’s road race and presentations to both the 2017 men’s and women’s champions.

In addition to the broadcast schedule, live streaming coverage will be integrated across digital platforms SBS Cycling Central, SBS On Demand and the Freeview FV app, in addition to the Foxtel GO Application.

“We are thrilled to be able to partner with these two great broadcasters and bring the 2017 MARS Road Nationals to millions of Australian fans both on television and mobile devices,” said Cycling Australia CEO Nicholas Green OAM.

“With SBS’s unequalled commitment to bringing cycling to Australian screens over the past 30 years and FOXSPORTS position as the country's leading producer of sports, the 2017 Championships promises to be one of the best.

"With the coverage now spanning an array of digital platforms, it is great that fans will be able to tune in to catch Australia's best battle for the green and gold jerseys no matter where they are across Australia and the world.

“It is also a tremendous result for Australian cycling with our sport to feature across four major networks this summer,” said Green, referencing both Channel Seven’s broadcast of the Cadel Evans’ Great Ocean Road Race and Channel Nine’s coverage of the Santos Tour Down Under in January."

SBS Director of Sport Ken Shipp is excited to be able to bring the event to fans on free-to-air and also online.

“We’re delighted to broadcast the 2017 MARS Cycling Australia Road National Championships free-to-air on SBS Viceland and online via Cycling Central to kick off an exciting summer of cycling,” Shipp said.

“Australian cycling has never been stronger, and SBS is pleased to be able to bring to all Australians the highlight of the domestic season with the race for the fabled green and gold jersey in Ballarat next month.”
