Five reasons to watch final round of NBL on SBS

1. Finals clinched

The Hawks will still be coming down from the excitement of Tuesday night’s win over Perth that saw them clinch a finals spot.

It’s a great achievement by a club who entered NBL21 under new ownership, with a new coach and almost an entirely new roster.

"I’ve learnt over the course of time not to move out of that moment quickly," Hawks coach Brian Goorjian said.

"Enjoy that moment, saviour it. It has been a long build to get to the playoffs… right now I don’t give a hoot about who we play next, it is about embracing this moment with a great group of guys.

"I’m not going to stop now; I’m going to give it more time.”

2. Keeping the dream alive

The Kings are also coming off an emotional win, having overcome Melbourne United in double overtime last Saturday night.

After a season full of adversity, including a horrific run with injuries, that win kept Sydney’s playoff dream alive.

It will all be for nought, however, if they can’t find a way to get over their arch rivals from down the freeway.

3. Top of the table clash

If Perth win they will jump into top spot and the pressure will be on Melbourne for their final game of the regular season.

If Melbourne win, they will clinch the regular season title and possess home-court advantage throughout the playoffs.

4. A lot on the line

If United manage to win this game they will take all the pressure off their final game of the season against Adelaide.

"We do want to get home court advantage going into the playoffs," United forward Scotty Hopson said.

"So we’re going to go in and fight for this game.”

5. Perth’s pink game

The Wildcats will be wearing special pink uniforms for the fourth edition of their annual ‘Pink Game’.

The game raises awareness of breast cancer and funds for local charity Breast Cancer Care WA.

Game-worn pink jerseys, warm-up tops and other signed pink memorabilia will be auctioned off.

Since its inception in 2017, the ‘Pink Game’ has raised over $62,000 for Breast Cancer Care WA.
