Doctors at Orange Base Hospital, where he’s being treated, have told his family they will try to wake him tomorrow.
But doctors have also warned Mr Doolan will have some tough decisions to make when he regains consciousness, because removing the bullet from his hip could leave him with walking difficulties.
“That makes me frustrated and angry,” Dennis Doolan’s brother Desmond said.
“We’re running on limited sleep, we’re stressed with him just lying there and we want justice,” he said.
It is still unclear why Mr Doolan was shot by police, but a police spokesperson has told NITV the incident is being investigated by a Critical Incident Investigation Team.

“The Critical Incident Investigation Team will investigate all circumstances surrounding the incident, including the discharge of a police firearm,” the NSW police spokesperson said in a statement.
“The investigation will also be subject to an independent review.”
The family have told NITV they don’t believe Dennis was wanted for anything, and they have contacted lawyers to help them.
The 32 year old was shot in the buttock during a confrontation with police at Cowra last Thursday.
