Former Masters winner Robbie Page (Wollongong, NSW) sees this event as a true gathering of all Indigenous Surfers in Australia.
“This is a very significant event for all us. To get everyone together every year at a place like Bells Beach doesn’t happen very often and that’s what makes it so special.”
“It is a true saltwater meeting for both the men and women.”
This year’s event has been expanded to include an Open Men Longboard division alongside the Open Men, Open Women and Masters Men.
“With one of the biggest fields ever assembled, this years Australian Indigenous Surfing Titles is going to be the best yet,” said Surfing Victoria CEO Adam Robertson.
“It will be great to see some new faces amongst some former winners such as Russel Molony, Robbie Page and Otis Carey. Hopefully we get the chance to see them in some pumping waves at Bells Beach!”

Surfing Australia CEO Andrew Stark echoed the thoughts of Mr Robertson.
"It’s great to see the Australian Indigenous Surfing Titles continue to cultivate and showcase some of the nation’s finest competitors,” said Surfing Australia CEO, Andrew Stark.
“Now in its fifth year and again at the world renowned Bells Beach - both Surfing Australia and Surfing Victoria are extremely proud of the event’s progression and development.”
“These titles have facilitated the exposure and recognition of some extremely talented surfers. I wish all competitors the best of luck in 2016 and look forward to some outstanding surfing once again."
The event is held from May 20th – 22nd at Bells Beach on Victoria’s Surf Coast.
