The National Indigenous Music Awards have released their annual list of nominees celebrating excellence by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists. 

The list this year includes some world-renowned talent as well as home favourites.

The New Talent of the Year list features fresh up-and-comers like Mak Mak Marranungu rapper J-MILLA:

The winners will be announced at a glittering event in Darwin Ampitheatre on August 7, shining its spotlight on a diverse cross-section of 14 nominated First Nations solo artists and 11 First Nations groups deservedly shortlisted across seven categories.

Comedian and performer Steven Oliver (Faboriginal, Black Comedy) will host, and the event will be broadcast on NITV and online.
