Australia captain Rachael Haynes and West Indies international Stafanie Taylor have lifted Sydney Thunder to an easy WBBL victory over the struggling Hobart Hurricanes and a share of top spot on the ladder.

The Thunder cruised to the victory target with 3.4 overs to spare with their 3-116 built around a confident 64 from Haynes.

The Thunder opener carved the bowling to all parts of the University of Launceston Stadium, scoring a third successive half century in a 49-ball knock.

Taylor (10 not out) had the honour of hitting the winning runs after laying the foundation for victory with her off-spin.

The Jamaican claimed 4-15 from four overs as the Hurricanes limped to 8-112 from their 20 overs.

The home side struggled to build their run-rate as opener Hayley Matthews anchored the innings with 39.

The result sees the Thunder move alongside Sydney Sixers and Perth Scorchers at the top of the standings, while the winless Hurricanes remain marooned at the bottom.
