The program plans to encourage Aboriginal language learners and teachers in communities where traditional Aboriginal languages are at risk of disappearing.

The Coffs Harbour Nest is one of five being established across the state as part of a state government plan to help maintain Aboriginal languages.

Coffs Harbour community leader and Gumbaynggirr man Mark Flanders told Darren Mara the partnerships will help preserve his people's cultural identity.
