In a tweet by @KengsintonRoyal on 29th June 2019 it was announced that Prince William and Kate Middleton will travel to Pakistan during the coming autumn.

The request was made by the United Kingdom Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
High Commissioner for Pakistan to the United Kingdom Mohammad Nafees Zakaria said that the Government and people of the country warmly welcome this announcement of the Royal Visit.

"People of Pakistan cherish&fondly recall visits of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to Pakistan during 1961 and 1997. Upcoming Royal visit reflects the importance UK attaches to Pakistan. Both countries enjoy historical links & wish to strengthen further."
The announcement came on the same day when Pakistan won the cricket match against Afghanistan during the ICC cricket world cup 2019.

The last time a member of the Royal Family visited Pakistan was more than 13 years ago.

Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall travelled to Pakistan in 2006 to visit large areas devastated by the earthquake in 2005.

Princess Diana during her life made multiple visits to Pakistan doing charity work around the country.
