Australian diversity is celebrated in first ever Eid celebration in Sydney Cricket Ground

For the first in its history, Sydney Cricket Ground hosted a dignified Eid celebration event in the dining room at Noble Bradman Stand. Former Pakistani cricketer Waqar Yonus, Australian cricketer Brett Lee and Sydney Rooster's Sonny Bill Williams joined the Eid-Ul-Fitr celebration along with Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley.

Sports celebrities and attendees described the Eid celebration at the Sydney Cricket Ground as a historic and important opportunity to promote multicultural Australia and diversity in sports. Speaking on the occasion, Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hawkley said that a festival like Eid held at Sydney's historic Cricket Ground highlights the positive steps towards diversity in sports. Speakers and the audience lauded the efforts of the host Kamil khan who organized the historical event.
