Florida-based Indian national Krishna Barri is not a routine Lotto player.

But as luck would have it, he bought 10 tickets on a whim and ended up scooping the local raffle’s $14.5 million jackpot to his absolute surprise.

“I started looking at the tickets, the first ticket, second ticket, third ticket. Oh my god, that’s it! I called my wife. I said, ‘We got the lottery!’ and she said, ‘Wow, are you kidding me?’ I said, ‘No. That’s true!’” Mr Barri told.
Mr Barri who runs a small IT business in a partnership in Tampa recalled how he had it quite rough during his early days in the US.

But now that he stands a chance and is doing well for himself, Mr Barri said he wants to make it easier for the less fortunate in his native country. Mr Barri intends to set up a trust fund to facilitate the education of at least a 100 underprivileged children in India.
He informed Fox 13 that the project will be run in the name of his late brother-in-law -the man who supported him financially so he could pursue his dream to study at the University of South California and settle in the US, nearly 20 years ago.

With the rest of the prize money, Mr Barri wants to invest in a new house and a car for his family and save the rest for his children’s education.

As for routine, the IT man would like to continue doing what he is best at-to earn his keep.
