India to face Pakistan in it's first hockey match at Gold Coast CWG 2018

The fixtures and pools for the ten countries vying for a Gold medal in hockey at the next Commonwealth Games have been announced, with India and Pakistan both placed in Pool B.

The Indian mens' hockey team is the current silver medal holder and their first clash in the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games will be on April 7, 2018 against Pakistan.

Pakistan though, will have previously played a match on Thursday April 5, against Wales.

The host team Australia is the reigning gold medallist at Commonwealth Games, having won the title for the fifth time at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014. 

Australia is placed in a seemingly tougher pool A, but has expressed confidence in winning a gold medal for the sixth time in CWG history.
