In what has been termed a “Sikh Conspiracy”, three British Sikh men used passports of members of the Sikh community to let as many as thirty Afghan refugees enter the UK hoodwinking the border officials.
Daljit Kapoor, Harmanjit Kapoor and Davinder Chawla, all in their early forties, allegedly provided identification documents to Afghan refugees between May and June 2014, .
Thirty Afghan migrants have reportedly claimed asylum after they paid money to these three men to obtain documents that helped them to sneak into the country.
The Sikh men who are charged with helping asylum seekers to enter the country appeared before a magistrate on Thursday where the prosecutor said, “it was a Sikh conspiracy”.

He said it was occurring because it’s very difficult for the authorities at the border control to distinguish between the Sikhs who are allowed to wear turbans for their passport photos and illegal immigrants.
“We say these three men are facilitators in this organisation, this organised crime, where they are using genuine British passport holder within the Sikh community,” the prosecutor said in the court.
The court ordered the trio to surrender their passports to the British home office. They were granted bail.
