In September 2022, a boat carrying 16 people Syrians, mostly from the town of Kobani. The boat sank on route Algeria and Spain, only one person survived. In addition to that, on June 4 2023, another boat sank carrying 25 Syrians, and again mostly from the town of Kobani. Many people are deceived by people smugglers who promise that the boats are safe and will reach Europe in a short period of time. They charge people thousands of Euros or dollars but sadly the results aren't positive. Ezdesher Abdulrahman Kurdi is one of the people who was deceived and almost lost his life in September 2022 while on route Algeria and Spain but sadly 15 of his friends travelling with him lost their lives when his boat sank.
