Sydney lights up the city with its colourful lights and live music every year at this time. Vivid Sydney, the festival of lights is a celebration of creativity that transforms Sydney for 23 days and nights. We speak about this wonderful event with Vivid Sydney director Gill Minervini.

The largest multi-art form festival in the Southern Hemisphere, Vivid Sydney, has revealed an exciting line-up for 2024. The festival, which takes place from May 24 to June 15, promises 23 days and nights of extraordinary experiences that explore the theme of "Humanity" through Light, Music, Ideas, and Food. The biggest event in Australia will transform Sydney with captivating light installations and 3D projections from Circular Quay to The Goods Line; music performances and creative showcases spanning genres; an impressive Vivid Ideas program with mind-blowing experiences; and an enticing Vivid Food program.

“Vivid Sydney is unique across the world it's the only celebration that combines light artistry and ideas. It's the largest event in the Southern Hemisphere. We had 3.5 million people on our Light Walk last year and across the world it's one of the largest events of its kind.

It's really a distinctly Sydney event and distinctly unique event and one I think as Australians we should all be very proud of,” Vivid Sydney director Gill Minervini told SBS Kurdish.
