Dhoni, Retirement

The truth is that India does not have any major 50 over ODI commitment for most of the 2016. Instead India will be seen playing a lot of matches in the Twenty20 format.

Also, India has more than 10 tests lined up in India under test captain Virat Kohli.

No wonder MS Dhoni, the ODI and T20 captain, who has come under lot of criticism lately for the ODI series loss against Australia, is being asked questions about his retirement.

Here’s what happened

After India’s six-wicket win in the Sydney ODI, Dhoni was asked during the press conference, whether he had played his last 50 over match? (India isn’t scheduled to play another 50 over match for some months now).

To this, captain cool said, “File a PIL for this (to know about my retirement plans).”

But later on while discussing his batting position, Dhoni talked about continuing to bat lower down the order and thus made it amply clear that he still has some time away from international retirement.
