Sarah Todd first shot to fame in the 2014 series of MasterChef Australia, where she quickly earned a reputation for her passion for Indian cookery.

While Sarah was facing the challenges of the reality show kitchen, she was also winning over thousands of followers in India where the series was proving extremely popular.

So much so that one day Sarah received an offer that seemed too good to be true… One of India’s most successful restaurateurs wanted her to set up and run an exclusive restaurant on beautiful Vagator Beach, in Goa, India.

The two met at Ashish Kapur’s Delhi restaurant The Wine Company where they discussed the possibility of going into a business together. While Sarah says she didn’t think much would come of the meeting, soon after, she received a call from Kapur. “One day Ashish called me saying he had this site in Goa, overlooking the sea, sunset views, totally amazing… and he wanted me to be his business partner. I flew over and saw it and thought, I’d be crazy not to do this.”
Starting tonight, SBS brings you Sarah’s journey as she opens her first restaurant in India. Titled My Restaurant in India, Sarah shares some life-changing experiences and tells us what it means to set up a business.
My Restaurant in India starts Thursday October 20, 9pm on SBS. Follow our Facebook page to follow her journey from a girl growing up in Queensland to taking on a life-changing challenge in India.
