There’s good news for cricket fans.

Australia’s Cricket body, Cricket Australia has slashed entry level ticket prices for International matches in a bid to make it more affordable for cricket fans and ensure that more people turn up at the stadium.

Cricket Australia has that more than three-quarters of all seats will be sold at lower prices compared to last year.

The cheapest tickets for Tests and one-day matches will be no more than $30 for adults, $10 dollars for children and $65 for families (2 adults, 2 children).

The move comes after poor attendances at several venues for last summer's Tests against New Zealand and the West Indies.

Cricket Australia (CA) chief executive officer James Sutherland told the reporters that many cricket fans avoided watching the match live at the stadium due to affordability.

"This gives the opportunity for more fans to experience first-hand the skills and talent of Australia's best cricketers," Sutherland said.

"At Cricket Australia our aim is to put fans first and we are living by that mantra.

In an action-packed summer that will feature 41 days of international cricket against South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, more than 50 per cent of all tickets will be available for $50 or less.

Sydney fans attending the New Year's Test against Pakistan and ODIs will see a saving of $20 on adult general reserve tickets.

Perth fans will have the same benefit for the WACA’s ODI against Pakistan and a $5 saving for the first Commonwealth Bank Test against South Africa in November.

Fans in Melbourne and Brisbane will save $10 on general admission tickets for Tests, and $5 for one-day matches.

In Adelaide, the saving is $5 for the third Test against South Africa and the Australia Day ODI against Pakistan.

Kids will be admitted free to Twenty20 internationals.
