Schedule for Indian Film Festival of Melbourne’s fifth edition was announced in Melbourne this week.

1. The festival’s theme this year is Women Empowerment, where over 50 movies in 17 different languages will be screened from 11th till 21st August.

2. Film Festival Director Mitu Bhowmick announced that the festival’s opening night will screen Leena Yadav directed film Parched while Pan Nalin’s Angry Indian Goddesses will be screened on the closing night.

3. The festival also features a special awards night, a flag hoisting event by Bollywood star Rishi Kapoor at Federation Square in Melbourne on 13th August and a several sessions with festival guests Vidya Balan, Richa Chadha and Rishi Kapoor.
