Women have proved that if they get a chance, support and a platform they can achieve any feat whether it is in the field of politics, sport, film, or business.

The Melbourne based Australia India Women Entrepreneurs Forum helps migrant and Australian women entrepreneurs overcome social and financial problems to launch their own business. Ya Yoe from Japan got the support of the forum to start her bakery business.

Let's take a look at how Ya Yoe got a platform to show her cooking talent to the world...

Ya Yoe, originally from Japan came to Australia 12 years ago on a student visa. She had wished to settle here and start her own business, but after marriage and bringing up two daughters, she felt it was impossible for her to run the business. So she left her dream behind.

After eight years, she had a thought of chasing her dream once again.

An expert in making cupcakes and sushi, Ya Yoe was confused about choosing the right path to start the business.  But through the Forum she found a way to showcase her talent.

Talking to SBS Gujarati, Ya Yoe said: "It was my dream to run my small business but I hardly find any opportunity. I was looking for a stage where I can show my cooking ability. After joining this NGO I feel that I can start my own business and work from home.

The Forum’s President, Nildhara Gadani, said, "Women need support and a platform to achieve success in their respective field. We, as an organization believe that women have a critical role to play in society and provide them a chance to showcase their talent.”

"They can achieve success with the right support and environment. It will help their family and the economy as well".

"Ya Yoe showed her cooking skills and now we will help her to take food licence and other necessary permissions from the council so that she can start her business without any difficulty," Nildhara says.
