Do conscious leaders and companies exist? Cyprus-based Greek Australian businesswoman explains

Greek Australian Artemis Evangelidi is a holistic business lawyer and she lives in Cyprus. Her work has always been in and around the corporate commercial world and she gathered her experiences in a book. Artemis talks to SBS Greek.

Artemis' family is originally from Egypt; her mother from Cairo and her father from Alexandria. They left at different times and their paths crossed in Melbourne.

But she was born and raised in Australia.

"I am certainly an Aussie at heart, but the call was always there to travel and experience life elsewhere", she told SBS Greek.

Artemis moved to Athens in 2005 and was in Greece for four years working before her husband and she moved to Cyprus at the beginning of 2009.

She has been involved with the corporate world for almost two decades and she wrote a book titled “Life: Thoughts That Make The World Go Around”. which was, according to her, "the natural progression of my work".

"I felt the need to help more people to work on raising their own consciousness, something which is so desperately needed in this world", she says.

During our conversation, Artemis mentions a lot the words "conscious business and conscious leaders". 

"When we talk about Conscious Leaders we are talking about all of us. We are all leaders at any given time. This could be at home, with our families, with our friends, within our communities and of course, in our work.

To be a leader has nothing to do with titles and duties; it is a gift we each have within us. It is important to recognise the power to do the right thing and be a force for change".

When referring to Conscious Businesses, she focuses on the 5 P’s: Purpose, People, Passion, Planet and Profits. 

Artemis believes that her book is different from other books with similar topics.

"The book recognises that we need to work on certain elements within ourselves, our fears and how they may be holding us back; to look at whether we believe in ourselves and have faith in our abilities; how creative we are; how much freedom we feel". 

"When we wish for something to change, we must first change ourselves and that is the golden rule. Everything starts and ends with us".
