On Wednesday, Australia reported at least 32 COVID-19 deaths, including 20 in Queensland and 11 in New South Wales (NSW). Also, Western Australia reported four historical deaths.
NSW reported 11,607 new COVID-19 infections - its highest since 19 May.
The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) reported 1,458 new infections- its highest in the past four months.

Health Minister Mark Butler urged eligible Australians to take their third or fourth booster dose as new COVID-19 infections rise in the country.
He said the health advice is that people are not fully protected against the Omicron variant unless they have at least three vaccine doses.
Mr Butler urged parents to get their children vaccinated against flu. He said almost 60 per cent of people admitted to hospital with a condition associated with the flu are children aged 16 and under.
A new study showed that people at the highest risk of developing long COVID are in the age groups 45–54 and 55–69.
The British study published in Nature Communications noted that females are at a higher risk of developing long COVID symptoms than males.
South Australia will close some COVID-19 vaccinations over the next two weeks. Residents are advised to check the official website of SA Health before visiting a clinic.
Victoria has extended the deadline for free flu shots from 30 June to 10 July. Tasmanians can get their free flu shots until 6 July.
