Former cricketers show concerns as Australia call off hosting Bangladesh for Test and ODI series

Australia has called off a tour by Bangladesh Cricket team later this year for financial reasons. SBS Bangla spoke with former Bangladesh Captain Aminul Islam Bulbul and former squad member Omar Khalid Rumi, former cricketer & cricket organiser Bablu Chowdhury & Mahin Abedin, former cricketer Shah Abdul Matin Puplu & Talha Mohammad.

The Australian cricket team were scheduled to host the Bangladesh cricket team for two Tests and three ODIs between August and September in 2018.

Televising a cricket series during Australia’s football season is commercially non-viable for the hosts broadcasters and therefore the series has been cancelled.
