Introducing Colours of Cricket

Australia’s diverse South Asian communities are united by one thing, our love of cricket.

Colours of Cricket is a new SBS podcast that takes a unique look at the South Asian diaspora and how it's changing the face of cricket in Australia.

Over eight episodes, hear from international stars like Usman Khawaja, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Lisa Sthalekar, as well as commentators, sports historians, fans and community players.

Find out how cricket is helping new migrants feel at home in Australia and breaking down social barriers, how players from the subcontinent are keeping club cricket alive, and why kids from the Indian subcontinent are underrepresented in the big leagues.

Colours of Cricket is a collaborative project from South Asian language programs; SBS Bangla, SBS Gujarati, SBS Hindi, SBS Malayalam, SBS Nepali, SBS Punjabi, SBS Sinhala, SBS Tamil, and SBS Urdu.

The series is presented by Preeti Jabbal and Kulasegaram Sanchayan.

The first episode of Colours of Cricket launches on August 15 with episodes released weekly. Listen to the trailer now.
